FRIENDS AND GOSPEL IN DUARS 25/26 SEPT 2010

Dear Partners,

We had a wonderful time of FRIENDS interdenominational youth fellowship at Shalom Church Birpara on 25th Sept. Around 300 youth attended heard the message of abundance life in Jesus. They dedicated their lives to Jesus
On 26th Sept, we had gospel program in Bandhapani where 7 people accepted Christ as their Saviour.
Praise be to God.

PLEASE PRAY FOR THE MINISTRY IN SHILONG MEGHALAYA FROM 14TH TO 18TH OCT 2010 AMONG YOUNG PEOPLE AND YOUTH REVIVAL MEETING "LET YOUR KINGDOM COME" IN DARJEELING FROM 22ND TO 24TH OCT 2010.

WHY FASTING? read, mediate and be blessed

Why we need to fast? - Mathias Subba

1. Fasting is humbling ourselves before God. The Bible says: I humbled my soul with fasting (Ps.35:13).
2. Fasting is seeking God. The Bible says: And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes( Dan 9:3).
3. Fasting is an expression of sorrow. "Then the king went to his palace, and passed the night fasting: neither were instruments of musick brought before him: and his sleep went from him".(Dan 6:18)
4. Fasting is returning to God (from humanness to Godliness). " Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning" (Joel. 2:12)
5. Fasting is repenting of sins. " Now in the twenty and fourth day of this month the children of Israel were assembled with fasting, and with sackclothes, and earth upon them." ( Neh 9:1-2)
6. Fasting is allowing God's power to work . "However, this kind (means devil possessed) does not go out except by prayer and fasting." Mat 17:21
7. Fasting is spiritual discipline to be more closer with the Lord. " So Cornelius said, "From the fourth day until this hour I was fasting, and at the ninth hour I was praying in my house, and behold, a man stood before me in shining clothing" (Act 10:30)
8. Fasting prayer is for special occasions. Act 13:2-3 Now as they were ministering to the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, "Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work which I have called them." Then, fasting and praying, and laying their hands on them, they sent them awayAct 14:23 And having chosen elders for them in every church, and having prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord in whom they had believed.
